Recent Shrewsbury and Red Bank Burglaries 2013
On June 29, 2013, there was a police report of a burglary at a home in the area of Buttonwood Drive in Shrewsbury. The victim reported jewelry and electronics stolen from his home, with damages in the total of $5190.
In Red Bank, the next town over, a burglary occurred between March 9 and 10, 2013 at a Harrison Avenue home. An unknown person forced entry by breaking glass and getting the rear door of the house open. The place was ransacked. Several furniture pieces were damaged.
A burglary occurred on March 11, 2013, at a residence on Oldfield Place. An unknown person – or persons – broke in by forcing their way through a rear door, breaking the door frame. A Dell laptop was stolen, as well as some cash.
Police have charged two men – Christopher MacKay, 36, of Paterson and Jason Mayer, 30, of Lakehurst -- with burglary, theft of moveable property and criminal mischief at home on Prospect Avenue in Red Bank NJ.
The burglary was reported on June 28, 2013. Two bicycles, worth $1200, were included among the stolen items, which they were riding when the Little Silver police officers took them into custody. There was also $500 worth of property damage. Mackay and Mayer were held at the Monmouth County jail in Freehold Township – their bail was set, totaling $100,000.
A burglary also occurred on July 6, 2013, at an Elm Place residence. The victim reported that 25 pain killers were stolen from the home.
